Create a Quick Macro

 

The Quick Macro function provides a quick way to create macros to perform a variety of Windows functions. This tutorial shows how to use the Quick Macro feature by creating a macro to open the Windows Control Panel.

 

Steps to build the macro

1)From the Keyboard Express - Explorer window click on the Quick Macro button to open the Choose a Quick Macro window.

2)Click on the Open a System Folder option to open a window of the same name.

3)Select Control Panel from the drop down list.

4)Place the cursor in the Hot Key box and press Ctrl + F9. This will place the hot key combination of Ctrl+F9 in the edit box.

5)Enter Open Control Panel in the Macro Nickname field for a reminder as to what the macro does.

6)Press OK to save and return to the Keyboard Express - Explorer window.

7)The new macro is listed with any other macros previously created.
 

Test the macro

8)Press Ctrl + F9 to run the macro and open the Control Panel window.
 

Use the Quick Macro option to automate a number of Windows functions. Set up web searches, open specific Control Panel applets or Windows folders such as the Recycle Bin, User Documents, etc. Automate shutdowns of the computer, reboots and more.
